The Public Domain Works DB is an open registry of artistic works that are in the public domain. To find out more about the motivations for the project and its background see about.

The project is in alpha stage and this site is a prototype designed for testing purposes. In particular:

• This site only contains recordings from the UK for 1900
• A wiki does not provide a structured enough storage format for the underlying metadata and we need to move to a proper database backend

We need your help both in experimenting with the data and interface and with developing this prototype into a full sytem.
